We will do a few exercices to help everyone understand their responsabilities and role while standing in a tap circle as time keepers. We will focus on how a group can function musically while using the jazz idiom as a common denominator.

We will practice collective improvisation, an alternate creative possibiity to cutting contexts or simple trades, so tap dancers learn to become the music that feeds the conversation.

We will enter the process from a musical perspective where the display of technique won´t be the focus, which will allow dancers of various dance abilities to cohabitate musically.

The most experienced dancers will also have a space to elaborate their own solos and interact with each other.

Although geared towards tap dancers, the jam-part of the session is opened to rhythm practionners of any form.

The session starts right after the Saturday Pro Tap Lab, at 12.30pm. Door opens at 12.15pm. For best efficiency in the session, please be punctual. The session ends at 2pm.

You can also just come to watch and listen.

Cost: 5 euros
