One of the few remaining heir of hoofing master Jimmy Slyde, Roxane came up with a methodology designed to recreate the privileged one-on-one environment in which the tap dance culture was originally transmitted. JSI tap training mainly focused on tap history, technique, composition, choreography, tap standards, musicality, investigation and improvisation. Students could widen their understanding of tap, not only as a technical practice, but as jazz culture. Roxane has now imported her methodology to Paris after she closed JSI in 2018.

[/vc_column_text][mk_padding_divider size=”50″][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=negMPDKZSz0″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][mk_padding_divider size=”80″][vc_video title=”International Guest Teachers at Jimmy Slyde Institute” link=”https://youtu.be/aDWnflDbvyY?si=_kDsZ53IB_NhsXcP”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][mk_padding_divider size=”80″][vc_video title=”The story of the Jimmy Slyde Institute in Barcelona” link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BC681UvqQEA”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][mk_padding_divider size=”80″][mk_contact_form title=”INVITE ROXANE TO TEACH A WORKSHOP OR A MASTER CLASS IN YOUR SCHOOL”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[mk_page_section bg_image=”https://roxanebutterfly.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/jsi-bcn.jpeg” bg_color=”#90d5ff” blend_mode=”luminosity” attachment=”scroll” bg_position=”center top” bg_repeat=”no-repeat” bg_stretch=”true” enable_3d=”true” speed_factor=”0.8″ min_height=”968″ padding_top=”150″ padding_bottom=”48″ sidebar=”sidebar-1″][vc_column][mk_padding_divider size=”100″][mk_title_box color=”#ffffff” size=”40″ line_height=”91″ font_weight=”400″ stroke=”10″ margin_bottom=”0″ font_family=”none” align=”center” animation=”bottom-to-top”]JIMMY SLYDE INSTITUTE BARCELONA [/mk_title_box][/vc_column][/mk_page_section][vc_row][vc_column][mk_padding_divider size=”30″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1753101530702{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]JIMMY SLYDE INSTITUTE (JSI) was a space founded in 2012 by choreographer Roxane Butterfly in the Raval district of Barcelona.
