Roxane Butterfly

Multi-dimensional rhythmician…

Tap-dance has allowed me to travel freely around the world.  The power to create rhythm with my dance blessed me with a sort of natural legitimacy which has helped me gain access to specific communities, despite the distance that my being an occidental woman could have otherwise generated. My shows reflect this spectacular mosaic of multiple and unexpected encounterings which have formed the cement of my expression(Roxane Butterfly)

Current productions

Conversation with my daughter:
When tap-dance  becomes a voice for those who do not have one.  An exceptional mother-daughter duet which deconstructs all stereoptypes surrounding down syndrome. An hymn to the value of that which is different.

TAPmatazz:
From Congo Square to Paris via the Cotton Club.

Tapmatazz is just a formidable experience! A  genius entrance door that breaks the 4th wall and erases the frontier between stage and audience (…). The dance is nothing but virtuosity (…)  The public was delighted. (…). My goal was to propose a jazz event to my audience, beyond a strictly musical viewpoint (…) Mission accomplished! » (Henri Dalem, director of Théâtre des Pénitents)
